AmigaSoc UK
Official UGN representatives for the United Kingdom

Hello and welcome to this special Amiga Format CD version of the AmigaSoc website. As you probably know by now, a large proportion of the AmigaSoc website is CGI and unfortunatly there is no way we can get it to run from the CD, however theres still lots of interesting things to be found on this months website.

This time last month we were just about to jet off to Cologne to visit Computer98. You'll be pleased (I hope) to learn that we all made it there and back in one piece (except for Ash who lost his plane ticket, D'Oh!). You can read all about the trip and the show here

As well as traveling to Cologne and back we've finally managed to get our Storefinder working. Now you can find your nearest Amiga Shop simply by typing in your postcode. For those of you who don't have net access from next month on we hope to be able to produce a list of all the UK shops, or we may try and pursuade the Amiga Yellow Pages, who we are working with on this particular project to appear on the AF CD as well. If there is an Amiga shop near you that we don't have listed in our database please please let us konw so we can add it.

Finally for a bit of fun...

Basically, this meter uses the altavista search engine to search for the references to operating systems followed immediatly by the words sucks, rules or rocks. Each page that contains such a phrase generates 1 hit for the meter. As you may notice AmigaOS is not currently on the meter, however with your help we can get it added. If you have a web page on the internet and you want to add you voice to support the Amiga the simply add the phrase "Amiga Rocks" to your page somewhere. More details can be found here.
